Established in 1983, First Call for Help is a centralized information source for community resources. The service is designed to answer questions and to offer guidance to area residents in helping them through the human service maze.

2-1-1 First Call for Help assists telephone callers with identifying services to meet their needs. The professional staff use a computerized database of information, national directories, and other resources. Printed materials are also available.  

• 2-1-1 First Call for Help offers information on services available in Broome and Tioga Counties and surrounding area.
• It is available to anyone with a question or a problem of their own … or for a relative, neighbor, or a friend.
• It provides trained professionals to answer each call.
• It is free and confidential.
• It assists professionals in locating appropriate services for their clients.
• It distributes brochures and directories to assist in locating and accessing needed services.
