Binghamton Mets Home Run Team

Since the opening game in 1992, the Binghamton Mets Home Run Team has continued to support United Way annual fundraising efforts. Since its beginning, the program has contributed more than $44,000 to support services for the community.

Three organizations signed on as members of the 2008 Home Run Team: BAE Systems, Columbian Financial Group, and Universal Instruments. Each pledged to donate $25 to the United Way for every home run hit by a Binghamton Mets player during home games, to a maximum of 45 home runs.

As a part of Home Run Team activities, a Mets player is named "Player of the Month", and is publicly recognized with an award presentation in a short, pre-game ceremony at a home game. A representative from one of the sponsoring organizations makes the presentation.
