The Helping Hand Award promotes voluntary community service. Each year, the Campaign leadership selects as recipients of the award individuals who have made notable contributions to the United Way Campaign through their commitment and creativity.

In addition, some United Way volunteers were eligible to win other prizes.
Special events prizes were awarded to United Way representatives who increased donations to United Way by their organizations' employees while injecting some fun into fund raising. They met or exceeded the previous year's campaign results and added at least $100 through a special event. A winner was also named for the most unique special event. All won gift cards which were donated by the Vestal Target store.

The winner for the Most Unique Special Event was:
Dee Steveskey and her team, HealthNow New York.
Drawings also were held for United Way representatives at organizations that conducted successful campaigns. Specifically, the organizations must have achieved either $50 per capita in donations to the 2007 United Way Campaign or a 10 percent increase in employee donations to United Way over 2006. The prizes, which were donated by WICZ, Fox40, were cards for free Valero gasoline at Manley's Mighty Mart.

Corporate Award Certificates are given to organizations to recognize new corporate donors and to recognize increases of 5 percent or better than the prior year’s Campaign.
Employee Campaign award certificates are given to organizations to recognize per capita giving (starting at $30 per capita); employee participation (starting at 40 percent); and percent increase over the prior year. There are three levels of awards: Chairman’s Award, Cabinet Award, and the Honor Award.
